Lotus Flower

you've got some nerve
coming here:
lost, sequestered
to the pandemonium ballet
spinning out, dry-eyed
tracing those caspian lines
in the breeze, sharp and modern,
and all along those sitar eyes:
stay with me, stay with me

bowing like a swan
in the orange fall;
just a barrel of a gun of a woman
threshing the world dry
true, wide-eyed and believing:
spinning, spinning,
stay with me, stay with me

barefoot and alone
looking for the karma
that will take us home
(stay with me, stay with me)

but there's nowhere to go
and no one to take
just lawn and jazz until the edge of your eye
and that dizzy sun's instructions
sleep, wake, sleep and wake
