in his world
he had a whole world
in his names
in audience I interrupted:
Let me be plain
out of the many starry worlds
you wrote this one?
What sad lines you told,
how bleak the fray
how cold Mother Winter, The Taker
Subtle, how its Autumn and Spring
are but grains in an hourglass apart,
but how winged its hearts are in summer,
whistling at the End Times...
But not me!
Even now I laugh,
Janus, faces of mirth and mirth
flush with blood and crowned;
but please, on with your story
and be plain --
