Pull

the sitar note drones
fat on the air
runs like honey
and my dog is off
night lines on the sand
a midnight breath on the orb

the green sea
juliennes the gray sky
the seaweed spreads
its fingers in the dark
and the sharp spring falls
sunlight falls like rows of bows
violins in the morning
and oboes in the evening
and all the while
the minutes swing slow
ticking away like those hidden slices
of that twelve slice cake
one for each glistening plate
and the canine slices

and he flaunts her like an ark
two of every animal locked behind her eyes
wreathed in golden husks,
their zippers shocked open
gleaming dim as it is
