the nutmeg moon
shook off its saffron, set,
reincarnated in stone
the milk sea
eats its zodiac, curdles
in the salt and sunshine
my dog
a thin thing
mute and neat,
tail slack in the doldrums
the sun passes
like a stranger on the street
swims with the grains in the dunes
like the rest
a biplane
buzzes in the west
